Chapter History

The College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ believes in excellence and strives to be a valuable resource for members in academic guidance and community service. The chapter emphasizes leadership development and community awareness. The TCNJ Golden Key chapter was chartered March 4, 2001, as part of U.S. Region 1, which includes schools in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware. The TCNJ Golden Key chapter has welcomed over 2,500 members since its chartering in 2001. We are focused on gaining campus-wide recognition by our commitment to service and excellence and are very proud to be the only inter-collegiate honor society at The College of New Jersey. We welcome sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the top 15% of their class.

The TCNJ Golden Key chapter achieved Key Chapter status for the 2012-2013 school year. The Key Chapter Award is one of Golden Key’s most esteemed honors. Chapters must have achieved a Gold chapter standard status, the highest possible reporting standard in the Society, before they can apply to become a Key Chapter. Chapters that receive a Gold Standing have fulfilled all activity and service requirements of Headquarters; those that become Key Chapters have gone above and beyond. We at TCNJ Golden Key are honored to be counted among the best of the best and we strive to uphold the standards of the Key Chapter Award.
